Before & After

I thought I'd show the before and after pictures of Mike's leg next to each other. Keep in mind the "after" shot was 48 hours post op and before he took a shower. I point this out only because the doctor used a sharpie pen to outline the veins. Since he's been told not to scrub that area it will be a while before we see if that's sharpie or bruise. I'll probably shoot another picture in a day or two. He went in for his ultrasound today to make sure that the blood was flowing properly. The Ultrasound technician didn't see any problems but the doctor will still take a look and report back to him. Other than that I don't think he sees the doctor for 3 weeks. It will still be sore and swollen for some time yet but he appears to be walking better. Still a bit on his tip toe but better. It's a good thing I've converted him to wearing crocs. They're normally looser on the top of his foot. The foot on his "bad" leg is so swollen it just fits into his croc. Poor guy has to wear one of those compession hose socks that goes up to his thigh. Of course this comes at the hottest time of the summer.

Before & After

It's amazing to me to see how much more smooth his leg is already.

Wow! It is swollen pretty bad, but I'm sure that will go away in a few days. It's amazing how much of a difference it has made already. I feel sorry for him having to wear that big old hot sock. Hope he mends up well within the next few days... Kristie

That is just amazing what a difference it already is. Once the swelling goes down and the bruising goes away it is really going to make a difference. Way to go nurse Jen. Mom
