What a day, what a day

It's had it's ups, it's had it's downs. Definitely an odd day.

I was woke up by Mike calling me. When he took Holly outside the screen door locked behind him. Since my muscle relaxer was still in full force, I stumbled down the stairs like a drunk.

Then I managed to fall back asleep when I needed to be up at 7:30. Sigh. Quickly hopped in the shower so that I could meet mom for breakfast at McDonalds.

Put my tray down on the table my cappuccino fell over spurting across the floor and on my hands.

Got in the car, at a light I took a drink of said cappuccino...the lid wasn't on all the way and spilled it down my jacket and onto my jeans.

Hit a bump, it spurted out the top like a volcano making my car sticky.

Went to Block of the Month at Bits and Pieces and had a great time. I commented on Kelly's socks only to find out that higher up they were freaking awesome!! She's kind of like Mrs. Claus. The snow started falling harder and harder.

Realized that I lost track of time. It was now 10:45 and I was supposed to meet Jean at Jo-Ann's at 10:15. Saw a SUV turned over on it's roof on the freeway. BUT, I did help Jean pick out some fabric for an awesome quilt she's going to make this week while she's off on vacation.

Stopped at Hancock's to buy fleece. Got a phone call from Mike while I was in line saying that he had a slip and fall accident in our apartment complex and he wanted to know if I had my digital camera on me so that he could take pictures once he was done filling out his accident report.

OMG were the stairs coated in ice!! The salt that you see was thrown on right after he fell. There's a crack that Mike says he put there with his back. It knocked the wind out of him.

I told him that since it was a fall on the complexes property that we really should go and get it checked out by a doctor just so that there's a record incase his pain gets worse. It's just better to have documentation. They gave him some pain killers and a muscle relaxer. I can just tell he's in pain. =(

Came home, played on the computer, took a nap and left to meet my Dad to see the Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie. OMG it was HILARIOUS. When I was a kid my dad always sung the Chipmunks Christmas Song just like a Chipmunk. He's so good at it. We were giggling at the songs they played through the movie. They were awesome. I had to download the CD as soon as I got home from the movie. Every so often my dad would let loose with a OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKK and the little kids around us would giggle.

Driving to and from the movie theater in the snow was an experience. The roads are really bad. I'm more comfortable driving in snow in a stick shift than I am an automatic even though I've had automatic for the last 10 years. But, I did make use with the Low 1, 2 & 3 and it helped a LOT.

Now I'm home again and I'm installing my Foundation Factory Carol Doak Paper Piecing discs to my computer while I'm typing my blog. Mike just said he wants to go to the casino at 3am so he can get his seats for watching the Packer Game later. Since the Packers are doing so well the seats are getting harder to come by in the theater. So I'm going to stay up and drive him since he can't drive on the muscle relaxers.

I hope to get a lot of sewing done tomorrow. I have big plans. We'll see if they happen!!

Wow! It sounds like you had quite the adventurous day! Hope Mike gets to feeling better. Those stairs look awful! Shopping for fabric is always a fun time. My mom and I didn't get to do anything sewing related this weekend.
