Yeah!!! My Moda-U Postcard Quilt is ready to be quilted!!

Well, by this time tomorrow night I should have this baby quilted. Oh wait...I maybe need a day or two to decide what color thread I want to use and if I'm going to do an overall stipple or attempt something else? I don't know, what do you guys think? If it's not going to be stippled, then I'll probably wait a while to finish it becuase I'm going to need some serious practice time on doing other things!

I'm thinking possibly a light pink thread for the quilting? Or should I go with a light green?

Moda U Block of the Month Quilt

I will say, I LOVE how the piano key border turned out!!!! That's the first time I've ever done one of those and I prepared just enough to cover all four borders. Then of course Mike was already in bed and I begged him to get out and be my quilt holder!! Thanks Honey!!

So, the ladies on Saturday were joking around that by Sunday Night I'd have it quilted and completed. It's not completely done, but it is pretty close!!!

You go girl!!! I love it!! I have not tried the piano keys border yet, I am always afraid that it won't come out even! Maybe I will breakdown and try it someday. I can't wait to see what you decide on the quilting and thread!!!

Looks great, Jen!

Really pretty, Jen. I think I would quilt it in green...then again, it would be really pretty in pink. How about a variegated/blendable that runs from green to pink? I know Sulky makes one that has those colors. Just a thought...

How pretty! Don't you just love the piano key border? The quilt on my bed has one and I've been meaning to take a picture of it anyway since you sugested that we do that. Now I will and post it so you can see my border.

So pretty...I really like the combination of colors. As for the quilting thread I would go with the light green. Piano keys are one of my favorite borders...just seems to tie everything in together.

Thanks to Mike for climbing out of the "new" bed to be your holder.

Wow...it's beautiful. I would love to see you use the pink thread. My husband would not be happy if I made him get up to hold my quilt top...but he'd still do it. I think you must be training for the Quilting Olympics or something. I don't know how you do all you do....

Your quilt is beautiful, and as a professional longarm quilter, with fabric that is busy and so many different blocks, you are better off doing something all over. Not much else will show. But besides that, I have enjoyed your blog, I am new to this but have been "tagged" and am now doing it to you. You need to go back to my blog to get the rules. This is the one where you are supposed to put 7 things on your blog about you that are different, or weird or at least no one knows yet. By the way, your workmanship is great, it is what I love to get to quilt on. See you soon. Mary of NanaB

Wow Jen! I love the quilt. I love how it turned out. The piano key border is really awesome on it. I would chose a pink and get it done tonight, because tomorrow I'll be stalking UPS to make sure my quilts arrive at your house!

Wow what a great quilt. my first thought on thread was green if you want it to blend in. I light pink might not stand out much either so flip a coin.
Have you backing for it yet?

I like the idea of an all over stippling as it is kind of a busy pattern and I think the green thread to match the green fabric would be a good choice. But as quick as you are.... It's probably already done :0)

I think an all over stipple will look great...why not choose a pink and a green and use your birthday needles and create your own varigated thread! Or buy one that is varigated from pink to green. Just a couple of ideas.

Looks great! I should have known you'd have it finished soon. So tell us how you did the piano keys border - I'm guessing you sewed strips together and then sliced thru them, kind of like a bargello, but not sure about that. Inquiring minds want to know!
