My posts are kind of whiny lately...I apologize. But to add to the townhouse drama...my cars ignition just took a $hit. My car is a 2000 Malibu. I've had it since it was new and it's been a dissapointment ever since. We had loads of problems with it during the warranty and extended warranty. Now here we are, it's 2008 with 71,000 miles on it and my ignition took a $hit for the SECOND time. Mike's already called the dealership and we're going to be looking at about $500 in repairs, plus towing, plus the $50 that he just had to spend on wheel dolly's because it's pulled nose first into the garage and we can't exactly put it in neutral or raise the hood to force it into neutral. Can you tell there's going to be a lot of cussing tonight trying to get this dang thing out of the garage??

Gee, and then people wondered why I rented a car to go to Ohio? Mine is the most unreliable car evah!! Always has been, always will be. When we were in the extended warranty and had to pay $100 for each 'doctor visit' it got so bad that the dealer went to bat for us and actually got about $500 returned to us.

Having your car on the sick list is just above having your sewing machine on the sick list. Either one can make for a very upsetting day. The kicker thing - cars as so expensive - and the repair charges are out of this world. But you can get a car repaired much cheaper than making car payments.

So hang in there - we fellow quilter/bloggers are rooting for you!

I'm sorry, Jen. I feel your pain (remembering my coil springs, front wheel bearing, sway bar, recently, then my wheel almost falling off moving my sister last October, next adding the last time we came to see you, borrowing a car from the dealership because my brake parts were defective and broken on the left rear brake, and then while being repaired, discovering that the right rear brake had not even moved since GOD only knows when!!!)

Amelia is right though. Repairs are much cheaper than more car payments, which is where we are right now in our lives. I couldn't afford to buy anything new, or even used right now. My goal is to get OUT of debt. My van just turned 165,000 miles, and despite the long string of recent casualties, I am not ready to give up on it yet. It has served me well, and for the years I have had it, and the wonderful places it has taken me (WISCONSIN, ESPECIALLY!), I am proud to say she is mine, and I love her!

This TOO shall pass. SOON you will look back, while in your new home, with everything all settled down, and reminisce about how you didn't think you would make it, but you WILL. We are ALL here to listen to you, cry with you, laugh with you, or whatever you need. Just remember, we all love you, and when someone here needs some special words or encouragement, we know you will be here for us as well, as you have always been in the past.

We love you, and speaking for myself, from my heart, I LOVE YOU, my wonderful God sent friend.

71,000 kms?!? It's still a baby. Could you not of walked away early and gotten another car with no difference in price, etc from the dealership.

What's $500 refunded back, when you've sunk what you have into the vehicle.

My sister just spent a small fortune on a 3 year old van (bumper to bumber). I keep reminded her a warranty like that is only good until the bumper falls off... HEHEHE.

So, when will you start looking for a new car? :) Will you go with a gray G6 so that we can be car twins? :D It was so much fun when you were here!
