Day 51 Part 2

If I could growl and have it be as effective as when Miss Holly growls I would growl. I'd make my hair stand up too.

So I call after work. Now let me clairfy, in 51 days I haven't called all that often asking about the machine. 5 times at most with me stopping in once and my mom stopping in once. This is how our conversation went:

Me: This is Jen, I'm just checking to see if my machine has come in.
Dealer: No, it will be here Friday
Me: Are you sure, because it was supposed to be in last Thursday and the Wednesday before that. If it's not in by Friday I'd like to cancel my order.
Dealer: It will be here Friday

Ok seriously? SERIOUSLY??

Now I'll admit, I can be a bit$% but I haven't been and I wasn't in this conversation. In fact, for those of you who know me in real life; I realize it's hard to believe but I've been ridiculously nice about this whole thing. I don't want to burn my bridges here. But I did want to call back and scream, "I WASN'T DONE TALKING YET." But, I didn't...I resisted the urge. I really wanted to get my point across that I've now been waiting for 51 days.

So Friday, do I wait for them to call me and then after I don't get a call just assume the deal is off or do I call on Saturday and say I'm done?

I can't believe this! Isn't this the same guy you are a part of his BOM? Or am I mistaken? Don't you have more of a sewing/buying relationship other than your machine purchase? Haven't you bought oodles of thread from him?

I pray your machine is here Friday...I really do.

OMG!! First off did I read it right in the other post that you had a total of 10 tops ready to be quilted??? What I wouldn't give to have my pile down to 10!!! Try 77 and then you would be ready for heart failure! :)

I think this is terrible about your machine!!! I think I would call them close to closing time on Friday and if it wasn't there I would raise 7 kinds of HELL! There is no reason for it to take that long! Maybe I am just on a mad kick today, I have been fighting with a company over sawmill blades! Seems they can't get them delivered either!

You sound like you have been very patient. I would probably walk into the store on Friday evening before they close and tell them you are there to pick up your machine. Hopefully they have it, if they don't I think you should calmly explain how ridiculous this has been and let them know you can't wait any longer. They can't hang up on you when you are standing right there. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Oh no, I can't believe it! I'd seriously be about ready to growl too. I'm praying you get it on Fri.

If it's not there Friday I think I would have the dealer phone the company while I was standing there and ask for a date when it was sent out .If the dealer refused that would be the end of that ,of course I'm not a very patient person .Good luck .I can't believe he hung up on you, what the heck kind of customer service is that , that would have been the last straw for me .

I would stop by on Friday, ask for my machine and if he says it isn't there I would cancel my order. I wouldn't lose my mind. I would just cancel the order and walk out.

Enough is enough. You just need to end it all if it isn't there Friday. If you can do it without exploding, that would be great but I know that you're about crazy right now. Like Michelle, I'm thinking that this is the shop that you are a good patron of. That makes it all the worse.

I would ask for proof that he really has ordered it. If none is forth coming then cancel the order. If he want's to make a song and dance about it then give him one. Also write to the supplier and explain the situation. They probably don't need the bad press that this guy is causing.See if you can order direct from them.

You certainly have been patient and they certainly do not seem to be tops on customer service. Even though they aren't being on the up and up with you, I think it's only right to call or go in and cancel the order yourself. I hope you can get a similar deal elsewhere. What a shame!

I agree with Tic and Suzan. Boy, poor customer service. Not a good thing in this economy.

I agree with the others, go in on Friday to see if your machine is there, if not, cancel your order. We had a similar issue when we bought a crib. They told us 6-8 weeks, it was 12 weeks and we still didn't have the crib. We canceled the order, went with someone else and had the same exact crib in less than a week. That company is now out of business due to shady dealings.

I know things change over the years, but I hate it that I can't go to a store anymore and just pick up a piece of furntiture or whatever, but that it has to be ordered. When I want something, I want it now! If I have to wait, I'll probably be out of the mood, and would have moved onto something else.

I agree with everyone who mentioned going to the shop. Forget phone calls, if the Packers have taught me anything, it's to talk in person. Show up at the shop right before closing. If they don't have it, ask for proof it was ordered. If that can't give you that, ask them to give you your money back and walk on out.

I would stop in Friday to 'pick up' the machine and if it is not there I would tell them you have waited ## days and are now cancelling the order. You also might want to mention it to the company that sells it that the dealer is not getting you the 'goods'..... They would want to know, I am sure.
