Quilts on Barns - #22 Cedar Bend Star

The Cedar Bend Star marks the first barn on our tour through Walworth County. You can view Walworth County's offical barn website HERE. The first 21 barns on our journey were in Racine County.

The Cedar Bend Farm is located at N7922 US 12, Elkhorn, WI 53121. While we were there we were able to speak with one of the owners. She happened to be the one who originally got the Barn Quilt program up and running in Walworth County after she had heard about them in Racine & Green counties. She told us about the equipment that they used to attach the block to the barn. How it was very windy that day and the panels were acting like sails. They even cancelled their photographer that day. Luckily the wind died down just enough after church that they were able to get it mounted and the rest is history.

This one was special for me because it was my first quilt barn that I was seeing. The owner was very friendly and very proud of her quilt block. I was able to get some Indian corn and gourds from their stand too.

Love the century farm sign. It's great that it's still in the family.
